question - what role did the process of compromise play in the disputes about slavery?
ANSWER : Before the Civil War, there were some arguments that sparked disagreements between the South and the North were the Three Fifths Compromise, the Missouri Compromise of 1820, and the Compromise of 1850. All three of those Compromises debated weather or not slaves should be treated equally and as people, or maintain their racially segregated position as lower class property. Some of the solutions that were brought up were to fight, but others were to continue negotiating until both the South and North liked the idea and were satisfied about the decision. All these compromises resulted in the Civil War anyways, because as more compromises were made, it make harder and difficult until the South and North slavery positions couldn't handle it anymore.
