question - how did free african americans, especially in the north, develop their own institutions and actively seek the abolition of slavery?
ANSWER : How free African Americans develop their own institutions and seek the abolition of slavery is by acting and speaking of what they thought about slavery. The free African Americans thought it was unjust and unfair for the slave African Americans to be treated like that. So to let the owners know how they felt they protested against them. They rebelled against their owners back in the south. They would resist working, they would work slower, and not get the job done. Owners would be mad at them but they insisted on doing that until African Americans were freed at once. The owners ignored them at first but once they start to protest more and not to their jobs they started to get worried. Fee African Americans wouldn't stop till the African Americans were freed. And later on they got what they wanted and the African Americans were freed.
